Peak Cinema · Last updated 22 October 2026
Peak Cinema lets you rank the movies you love, play tournaments between them and compare your taste with friends. This page explains what we keep about you, why, and how to delete it. In short: we keep only what the app needs to work, we don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
Peak Cinema is run by Agrisol Schoeman Precision Services (Pty) Ltd. Questions go to hello@rbdk.uk.
What we keep
- Your sign-in. You sign in with Google, Apple or your email address (we email you a 6-digit code to type in). We keep your email address and an account ID. Your email is never shown to other people.
- Your display name and friend code. The name you choose is what your friends see. Your friend code lets people add you.
- Your movies. Your ranked list, your ratings, your watchlist, the movies you've hidden, your tournaments and your app settings.
- Friends. Who you're friends with, friend requests and anyone you've blocked. Your friends can see your display name, your ranked list and ratings, and your #1 movie's poster as your picture.
- Shared watchlists. If you make or join one, everyone in it sees its name, who's in it, the movies on it, who added each one and who wants to see it. In Pick tonight's movie they see who's joined and how far they've got, and the movie that wins with who was up for it, but not how anyone voted on the others.
- Community. Unless you turn it off (Profile → Show me in Community → Hide me), other people can find you on the Community page, open your ranked list and ratings, and send you a friend request. They also see your display name, your #1 movie's poster, how reliable your ranking is and their taste match with you. If you hide yourself, only your friends see your list.
- Suggestions. To suggest movies, the app compares your ratings with other people's and recommends what people with similar taste loved. A suggestion never says whose ratings it came from, unless that person is your friend: everyone else only shows as "people with your taste", and how many.
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising ID or browsing history. The camera is only used, if you choose, to scan a friend's QR code; nothing from it is stored or sent anywhere.
Who handles it for us
- Supabase stores your account, list, tournaments and settings.
- Cloudflare hosts the app and stores friends, your shared list and shared watchlists.
- Google and Apple handle signing in with them, and Resend delivers the sign-in codes we email you.
- A movie database (The Movie Database, TMDB) provides movie titles, posters and details. Searches are sent from our server, without anything that identifies you. To show where a movie streams, the app sends your country (from your device's language settings) along with the movie, and nothing else.
These services only process data to run Peak Cinema. We don't share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account. This deletes your account, list, ratings, watchlist, tournaments and settings straight away, and removes you from your friends' lists. If you can't get into the app, email hello@rbdk.uk from the address you signed in with and we'll delete it for you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it by emailing hello@rbdk.uk. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or POPIA) you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Peak Cinema isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
